Protected Beaches
The North Wildwood Beach Patrol has announced the schedule for protected beaches in North Wildwood for the summer season. A limited number of streets will be guarded starting Memorial Day Weekend. The beaches will be staffed weekends only until June 6th, then go to 7 days a week. Lifeguards are on duty from 10am – 5:30pm weather permitting. For more information call the Beach Patrol headquarters at 609-522-7500. Lifeguards will be on duty at the following locations (subject to change): Inlet Beach, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 22nd, 24th, and 25th Aves. Beach Access from 2nd & Ocean Aves on the Inlet Beach and 2nd – 6th Aves, on the Front Beach are CLOSED at this time.
Surf Beach: The designated Surf Beach is on the Front Beach between 3rd – 5th Aves.
Accessibility
Access to the Beach and Boardwalk: ADA compliant ramp access at 15th & 20th Avenues.
Handicap Surf Chairs
Contact the North Wildwood Beach Patrol at 609-522-7500 to check availability, as it is a first come, first served basis. There is no charge for use of chairs. Beach Surf Chairs are available for use on the Inlet Beach at 1st & Surf Aves., and on the Front Beach at 7th and 15th Aves. The Beach Patrol Transport service is not available at this time. The service will resume at the completion of the Emergency Beach Nourishment Dredge Project.
Comfort Stations
Located at 7th Avenue & Kennedy Drive, Lifeguard Headquarters at 15th Avenue & Beach, 25th Avenue & Boardwalk, Olde New Jersey Avenue & Seawall. Portable bathrooms are located on the beach every 3-4 blocks in season.

Beach Vehicle Permits
North Wildwood requires beach vehicle permits for driving on its beaches. These permits grant access to designated areas for off-road vehicles, allowing beachgoers to explore the coastline and enjoy the sandy shores from the comfort of their vehicles. Access is available the day after Labor Day to Monday before Memorial Day.
Additional North Wildwood Beach Regulations
In addition to beach vehicle permits, North Wildwood has specific regulations in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable beach experience for all visitors. Some of these regulations include proper disposal of trash in designated bins to maintain cleanliness, respecting marked swimming areas and lifeguards’ instructions for water safety, and observing restrictions on pets during certain times of the year to maintain a comfortable environment for everyone. Also, beachgoers are reminded to avoid fires, alcohol, and glass containers on the beach to uphold a family-friendly atmosphere and preserve the natural beauty of North Wildwood Beach for all to enjoy.
