What’s The Buzz About:
FliesOnTheBeach.com
The Question That Unites Every Jersey Shore Beachgoer
From Long Branch to Cape May, one question kicks off every summer morning: “Are there flies on the beach today?”
Anyone who’s had their beach day derailed by greenhead flies or biting gnats knows — it only takes one bad afternoon to turn a cherished shore tradition into a miserable memory. FliesOnTheBeach.com was built to answer that question simply, quickly, and reliably, so you can plan your day before you pack the cooler.
The Shore Is In Our Blood
There’s a moment every Jersey Shore regular knows — the instant you cross the bay bridge and the salt air hits. Suddenly, you’re back.
Somewhere between the boardwalk fudge and the hot sand burning the bottoms of your feet, the Shore becomes more than a place. It becomes a feeling. The cars packed to the roof with gear, the seagulls circling the funnel cake stand, the way time slows down the second you stake your spot on the beach — these are shared experiences that bond generations of Jersey families together.
We believe nothing resets the soul quite like a day (or a week, or a whole summer) at the Shore.

What The Shore Taught Us
The Jersey Shore isn’t just a vacation destination — it’s a classroom. Over a lifetime of summers, the beach has passed down lessons we still carry and share with our kids:
- Swim only when a lifeguard is on duty
- Respect rip currents — they don’t announce themselves
- Know how to spot a jellyfish before you step on one
- Always grab a crab from the back
- Check tide charts before you set up camp
- Fill in your holes before you leave — someone’s ankle depends on it
- Reapply sunscreen. Then reapply again.
- Don’t eat in the open unless you want new seagull friends
- Learn the difference between an ocean breeze and a bay breeze — one brings relief, the other brings greenheads
The most important lesson of all? The Jersey Shore makes everything better. Every time.
Why We Built This
We’ve been going to the Jersey Shore every summer of our lives. And like any true Shore people, we’ve had all the debates:
North Jersey or South Jersey? (And does Central Jersey even exist?) Pork Roll or Taylor Ham? Circle or jughandle? Pump your own gas or absolutely not? Hoagie or sub? Cheesesteak with or without? Benny or Shoobee? Shore or Beach?
But through every argument, one thing has always been universally agreed upon: the number one question of any beach day is “Are there flies on the beach?”
