What’s The Buzz About:
FliesOnTheBeach.com
The one universal truth from Long Branch to Cape May is the same daily question: “Are there flies on the beach?” A day at the beach plagued by flies and those biting bugs can quickly turn a happy memory into a terrible experience. This site was created to quickly and effectively answer the long-standing question, “Are there flies on the beach?”
Cherished Memories Of The Shore
“The Shore” holds a special place in my heart, filled with countless memories that flood back with the first scent of salt air as you cross the bay bridge. People all along the Jersey coastline share common experiences when it comes to the Shore: cars packed with suitcases and beach gear, strolling the boardwalk while enjoying fudge, salt water taffy, or custard, burning your feet on the hot sand, and sharing countless smiles along the way. These shared experiences make us certain that nothing is better than a day (or week, or month) at the Shore.

Lifelong Lessons From The Jersey Shore
Upon reflection, I realize that my memories of the Jersey Shore have significantly influenced my daily life and the lessons I pass on to my children. These lessons include: only swimming when a lifeguard is present, being cautious of rip currents, identifying jellyfish to avoid stings, picking up crabs from the back to avoid pinches, knowing the tide times to find safe spots for our belongings, filling in holes we dig to prevent accidents, reapplying sunscreen throughout the day and after swimming, not eating food in the open to avoid attracting seagulls, and recognizing the difference between an ocean breeze and a bay breeze to be aware of greenhead flies. While there are too many lessons to list, the most important one is that the Jersey Shore always makes things better—whether for a mental boost or to soothe an ailment.
Passion For The Jersey Shore and The Fly Report
I have spent every summer of my life making memories at the Jersey Shore. With my deep love for the area and all it offers, I wanted to create something that not only brings me joy but also helps others enjoy the beach. There are many debates among New Jersey natives and visitors—North Jersey vs. South Jersey (and whether Central Jersey exists), Pork Roll vs. Taylor Ham, circle vs. jughandle, pumping your own gas vs. not, hoagie vs. sub, cheesesteak with or without, Benny vs. Shoobee, and Shore vs. Beach.
The one universal truth and #1 question each day from beachgoers is: “Are there flies on the beach?” We’re here to answer that question quickly and effectively whether if for your weekly vacation or every day of the summer season. Check out the latest Fly Report to plan your day accordingly.
